Foley Stage

Welcome to our new Foley stage. Designed and constructed in-house for the UK Film Council short film 'Frequency' (Gurchan Singh - writer/director. Hank Starrs - producer) which is scheduled to premiere at the Encounters International Film Festival in November this year. The Foley stage will allow us to create and record 'every day' sounds that are required as part of the sound post production process. This, coupled with our sound effect libraries and experience within the film industry, will add depth and enhance the film soundtrack. Our stage is very practical and efficient currently incorporating six neatly designed trays that allow us to expand surfaces as and when required. We have a selection of microphones and our isolated room facilitates accurate recording of sounds with an incredibly low noise floor. Coupled with fantastic visibility and talk-back communication, a great Foley performance is only a step away!

Mark says, "Using the Foley stage on our latest short made a real difference in the mix. The Foley recordings, combined with well selected room tones, atmospheres and sound libraries gave us complete control, providing all the necessary elements for great sound design and a dynamic mix. We have achieved a fantastic soundtrack which we are very proud of and the clients are extremely happy with."

S.E.N. Community Art Documentary

Dreambase Studios were commissioned to film the project over the 2 weeks, producing a 30 minute documentary which is to be used as part of the S.E.N. Uplands school's prospectus. The film was premiered at the school during a recent parents evening where everyone was able to admire the artwork in situ, then watch the film to find out how it was all created and put together.

The project was funded by the National Lottery and was organised and run by Purton-based artists Antoinette Robinson and Gordon Dickinson from No Added Sugar. The artwork around the entrance to the school comprises brightly painted circular panels depicting scenes created by those taking part, with the schools’ motto, ‘a vibrant and caring community where learning for life is fun’, as its theme. Inside the foyer of the school a series of square designs create a bright and lively display against the white walls.

‘It has been such a great success, the art work is unbelievable and has made the entrance to our school very welcoming and vibrant’. 'Dreambase Studios displayed an empathy and understanding for our young people straightaway and understood what it was we wanted to capture and portray in the filming of our Community Arts Project. They have captured our arts project in an unobtrusive way that didn’t impact on the project, but actually enhanced it. The film will help our organisation moving forward'.
